Place-Based Learning Full Circle From Reading to Visiting

This afternoon for our Place-Based Learning class, we traveled to the actual 'The Meadow' that was written about my James Galvin. This was a really special treat because we actually got to see with our own eyes the place that we had read about and meet an heir of one of the characters. Being at 'The Meadow' was really interesting; a total different sight from what many of us had envisioned. It was incredibly beautiful and completely remote. Also, meeting one of the main character's granddaughter was really special too. Hearing her talk so fondly about her grandfather and family made the book we read so much more realistic. Her passion, pride, and love for her family and this place (The Meadow) made the book not just realistic, but you could feel an emotional tie and connection. Enjoy some of the photos taken that day!
