More Than A Week Later And Our Home, Grand Teton Park Still Closed.

It has been over a week and even after 11 days since the government was shut down, nothing has changed and the National Parks are still closed.  It is really sad and frustrating to see this happen.  We just want to go back and explore our park!  Not to mention, we are still very limited to what we can do on our campus.

Here on the Kelly Campus, we are still unable to host field programming on our trails and property.  Field education graduate students have relocated to teach field education programs on our Jackson Campus.  So our on campus dormitories are so vacant and awfully quiet!  Usually we are hearing laughter and children's voices all over here...dead quiet.

For personal, recreational endeavors, we are still unable to hike our trails, bike or run around campus, and go into the depths of the park.  It is really frustrating when we are trying to plan some fun time and mostly every option we come up with is with in boundaries of the park and we have to remind ourselves that these plans are a 'no go' right now.

We just want our parks back...and it looks like the wildlife are starting to show their true feelings about it too!  Taken from a YouTube video from a visitor, I thought you might all enjoy this lovely bison rebelling against this shut down.  Enjoy while we are still waiting for our HOME and National Parks to open back up!

Until then, stay tuned with some upcoming blog entries about what I have been doing on the Outreach Team that travels around the state of Wyoming to teach in other schools.

It Kills Me to see these signs up all over the place out here.
