Our team took Wednesday and Thursday of our planning week to scout out our backcountry route that is about 5-miles from campus! Sure, this may seem like not a huge trek, at least for the graduate students, but to our participants, it will be a really exciting and challenging adventure. I could not believe that the views we saw from our trek and camping trip were in my backyard...literally!
Route Goes from Kelly Campus
Up the Zig-Zag
Towards Upper Meadow
Along the Gully
Into the National Forest
Camping Location #1: Grace's Meadow
Along the Ridge of Ditch Creek
Camping Location #2: Shark Fin Meadow (Total Mileage to this point 5.0-miles)
Trailhead - 0.5-miles away!
Crazy!
